Collegiate a-cappella isn’t exactly what you see in the Pitch Perfect movies. A dedicated executive board works hard behind the scenes to ensure efficient (and fun!) rehearsals, performances, and album releases.
In my time with the Walk-Ons, I worked as publicity manager and Vice President when it mattered most – during the COVID-19 pandemic. With members spread all over the world, we struggled to get back to what united us: music. Technology like Adobe Audition became essential for staying connected and rehearsing. I led my group’s efforts to edit three songs, each with up to (and sometimes over) 14 mono tracks.
I led multiple social media campaigns including our Single release plan (Lights Up and Blue Medley), Virtual Singing Valentines (managing and sending out 100+ orders, $700 raised to fund our future costs), Fall/Spring Audition publicity, the Wednesday with the Walk-Ons series and the Saturday Spotlight series.
In addition, I revamped our website, working with WIX software to import old content onto our new site. After the web update and in my tenure as Publicity Manager & Vice President (Jan 2020-Dec 2021), we had a total of 2,673 page views, 1,253 site sessions and 747 unique visitors.
